The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Katsina State Council, has taken step towards ensuring a smooth transition process with the inauguration of a 6-man Credentials Committee.
The committee, chaired by Abdullahi Muhammad Tanko of the Correspondent Chapel, will oversee the screening process and ensure the integrity of the electoral roll ahead of the Union's transition program.
This is contained in a letter conveyed by the Secretary of the Council, Abdulatif Yusuf.
The committee members include, Hannatu Mohammed (NTA Katsina), Dahiru Dankaro (State Radio Service), Rabe Ali Ja (Companion FM Katsina), Rabi'u Ibrahim (Ministry of Information) while Nasiru Sani Gide (KTTV) will serve as Secretary.
The committee's formation is in accordance with Article 5 (9) (a-g), (11), and (12) of the NUJ Constitution.
Their tasks include producing the election timetable, publishing the list of screened candidates, and compiling the authentic list of delegates from various chapels.
The Council leadership is confident in the committee's ability to deliver a transparent and credible election process.
